The owners of four New Hampshire based restaurants, Chef/owners Michael and Sarah Buckley have spent nearly 20 years refining and defining what high quality dining means. They began with MT’s Local in Nashua, NH; next came Surf, also located in downtown Nashua, NH; Buckley’s Great Steaks followed and has set the bar for steak houses in the region.
Set in the quaint town of Merrimack, NH, Buckley’s Great Steaks has become of the premiere dining destinations in Southern New Hampshire. With everything from an award-winning wine selection and its Best of NH chef, Buckley’s is where folks turn for a one-of-a-kind dining experience. The different dining rooms serve as ideal backdrops for romantic dinners, corporate events, private function and more. And Riddle’s Tavern suits the more casual diner, serving both a full menu and lighter fare.

While the service and atmosphere are world-class, the focus at Buckley’s Great Steaks is on the beef. Buckley’s reputation is built on classic cuts such as Filet Mignon,Bone-in Rib-Eye, Prime Cut New York Sirloin and Dry Aged New York Sirloin.
The chefs personally hand-select the the finest cuts for our guests. Each steak is lightly seasoned to enhance the natural flavor and seared to perfection on a wood-fired grill. Using native hardwood to fuel our grill makes all the difference.

OUR CHEF
Chef and owner Michael Buckley took the local restaurant scene by storm in 1995 when he and his wife Sarah opened Michael Timothy’s Urban Bistro, Wine & Jazz Bar on Main Street in Nashua, NH. Critically acclaimed for its upscale atmosphere and cuisine, Michael Timothy’s quickly became one of the region’s premier dining destinations.
Prior to opening Michael Timothy’s, Chef Buckley cooked at some of the most prestigious restaurants in New Hampshire, and also spent time in Europe working under a master chef. He uses only fresh, quality ingredients in every recipe, and relies on local organic farmers and independent purveyors who share the same high standards.
Building on their success with Michael Timothy’s, the Buckleys opened a second restaurant – Surf – in 2002 just across the street from their urban bistro. Devoted entirely to creatively prepared and seriously fresh seafood, Surf continues the tradition of excellence set by Chef Buckley. Surf was recently voted Best Seafood Restaurant in the state by New Hampshire Magazine’s Readers Poll.
The Buckleys’ passion for serving finely prepared foods led them to open their third restaurant, Buckley’s Great Steaks, in December of 2005. Almost immediately, it was voted the best steakhouse in the area.
Today, the Buckleys have opened a second Surf location in Portsmouth, NH; and their original restaurant has evolved into MT’s Local, which focuses more on farm to table dining.
